Sometimes all a bedroom needs is a little makeover to spruce it up. You’d be surprised what small things can make a huge impact. That’s what we’re going to talk about here. None of these ideas are expensive at all. There are even things that can be done for next to nothing. All you need is a little creativity and the desire to make things look better than they already do. These are the types of projects that can be so much fun and you can even get your children involved in them as well.
Add a desk and chair
Are you searching for a quiet place where you can do some work on the computer? If so, the bedroom is the perfect place to do that. You may also put a desk and a chair in your bedroom to do other things. It could only be for aesthetics and nothing else. Spending all day long in your bedroom is never a good idea. But, there are those times when you need some alone time to focus on things. A desk can give you the perfect opportunity to make it happen.
Use wallpaper on things other than walls
This is a great tip because you can change the way your bedroom furniture looks without spending much money at all. Have you ever thought about putting wallpaper on dressers or other furniture? You can, and it’s a great way to make it look different. What do you do once you’re tired of the wallpaper? Get rid of it. Then, you can paint the furniture or do whatever you want. You can even make every dresser drawer look unique with different wallpaper. Use your imagination and see where it takes you.
Dye your pillowcases new colors
Do you have the traditional white pillow cases? If so, you can change their colors quite easily. Wouldn’t it be neat to tie-dye your pillowcases? It’s possible to do that as well. You can pick up the dye at any arts and crafts store. You’ll want to read the instructions thoroughly before using it. You will also want to make sure you don’t get the dye all over the place. This isn’t one of those tasks where you wear your best clothes while doing it.
Paint a design on a mirror
Every bedroom should have a mirror. How else can you tell what your clothes look like after putting them on? Have you ever thought about painting a design on your mirror? If not, then give it a shot. Are you not an artist? Maybe you have a friend who is. If so, then ask them to paint the mirror for you. If you have nothing to pay them, then offer something in return. Maybe you could babysit for them for an evening or clean their home. There’s probably something the two of you can do for each other that will offset the time put into painting the mirror.
Add houseplants for a homey feeling
This is one of those things that you can do for almost nothing. Don’t have the money to buy plants? You can go dig up some dirt and ask for a sprig of a plant from someone. Some old time hardware stores sell seeds by weight, and you can buy a few of them. If you don’t have a green thumb, then you can buy plants at the store. Keep an eye on your local gardening supply centers and see when there’s a deal. You might be able to find some plants they want to get rid of for cheap.
Your bedroom is more important than the kitchen
What? Can that possibly be true? Yes, it is. You spend far more time in your bedroom compared to the kitchen. You even spend more time in your bedroom than in the living room. Every day you do so much more than just sleep in there. It’s the one place in the house that’s more special than the rest. Make sure that you treat it as such. If you’re not, then you are overlooking a great possibility to improve your home. Every day you open your eyes and look at the world around you. Make sure you’re doing that in a room that fits your personality perfectly.
